- Call ahead every time — pet policies change without notice. Even “pet-friendly” listings sometimes mean small dogs only, or exclude certain breeds.
- Carry vaccination records — several resorts (Big Banyan, VAMA, Our Native Village) require proof of recent vaccination at check-in.
- Ask about leash policies — some resorts have fully off-leash open spaces; others require leashes in common areas and dining zones.
- Check size and breed restrictions — a few premium properties have weight caps or breed exclusions.
